- שַׁסְתֵּם(Shaf. of סחם) to enclose, lock up. Gitt.68a שדא ביה … שַׁסְתְּמֵיה Ar. (ed. סתמיה) he threw a chain (looped rope) over him and enclosed his head; (Ar. ‘drew it up, when we should expect ישַׁסְתְּמָהּ).
